The Migrant Health Country Profile tool (MHCP-t) will inform health care practitioners and policy-makers on how to effectively monitor and respond to migrants’ health needs.
This tool is highly novel because it is the first time a comprehensive data set has been collated across multiple infections and other key diseases as well as vaccination coverage among migrants in these countries. Findings will inform policy and transform data collection in the MENA Region.

MHCP-t requires a wide range of data on migration and migrant health. To collect this data, we will facilitate the creation of a country-based cross-sectoral coordination team, called the Migrant Health Secretariat, led by representatives of the National Ministries of Health, that will engage with the relevant authorities and expert representatives.
MHCP-t integrates data in three domains and several diseases:
Derived from routine health information, such as public health registries, research projects, demographic and health surveys and health insurance data sets.
And other commitments contained in regional and global governance frameworks relevant to migration and health.
Including data on the inclusion of migrants in health and vaccination systems, and the range of health services and initiatives that specifically target migrants, including COVID-19 vaccination.
Data is fed to MHCP-t through online surveys on REDCap, a browser-based software that works from any electronic device with an internet connection.
